Tennis Champions 2015: Wilander, Noah, Cash, Bahrami, Schmiedlova and Kvitova all in Bratislava!

Yannick Noah, Mats Wilander, Pat Cash, Mansour Bahrami, Anna Karolina Schmiedlova and Petra Kvitova. Names of six former and current tennis stars that will feature at the 8th Tennis Champions Exhibition. Event will take place on 1st December at 18:00 in National Tennis Centre in Bratislava. Tickets are sold through www.predpredaj.sk.

Whole event lasting for more than three hours will start with a singles match between Swedish Mats Wilander (8 times grand slam champion) and Australian Pat Cash (Wimbledon winner 1987). Women’s single will follow between Petra Kvitova (won Wimbledon twice) and Slovakian number one Anna Karolina Schmiedlova. Last doubles match will bring even more fun onto the court, as Noah (Roland Garros 1983 winner) together with Schmiedlova will play against Kvitova with Bahrami. Both Wilander and Pat Cash will of course both take part in the mix doubles.

For showman Bahrami, exhibition in Bratislava will be his fourth since 2009, after also playing in 2011 and 2014. "Main plan of the exhibition is to bring well known tennis faces every year and try to bring some new players as well. From past years we can now say, we have learned, there is no point in hiring the young players first, but saying that, I do not exclude, we may change that in future. Age group like McEnroe, Borg, Lendl or Sampras – those are most attractive players that will sell out the NTC in my opinion. We have a nice mix of interesting tennis legends and grandslam winners," said Roman Smotlak, general director B&D s.r.o., main organizer.

"We are very happy to bring Yannick Noah to Bratislava this year. We have tried to bring him for several years now. We have great relationship with Bahrami, he is exclusive showman. It was not easy to bring Wilander, who does not play exhibition games a lot. He was the one to react positively on playing with Noah and Bahrami. We invited Pat Cash to join them, as well," added Smotlk.

There is no secret, beautiful women can add to the whole experience, when playing alongside great tennis stars of the past. Still active players on the WTA circuit will join the exhibition, Czech Petra Kvitova and Slovakian rising start Anna Karolina Schmiedlova. "Petra was very close from becoming world number one and she won Wimbledon twice. She does not play exhibition games very often, but it is close for her to come to Slovakia. Karolina was happy to receive this offer, she heard a lot about our event and even watched it as a fan. She is a player that will soon attack Top 20 in the WTA rankings,” concluded Smotlak.

Both singles and doubles will be played for one set. If the score is 6-6, tie break with same rules as during normal matches will be played. Whole program should not exceed more than three and half hours.

Matches will be broadcasted LIVE by Slovak Sport.
